Cumbria County Council has been successful in bidding for a share of £150m funding to develop new ways to respond to flooding.

Household waste permit scheme to re-start

The Household Waste Recycling Centre Permit Scheme was suspended during the past month to allow householders ease of access to dispose of their flood-damage waste. As the urgent need to remove such waste has now passed, the Permit Scheme will be reinstated with effect from Monday 11th January.
