Kendal Infrastructure Improvements Heron Hill / Esthwaite Avenue

Road works sign

On behalf of Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Cumbria County Council is currently progressing the design and implementation of a number of infrastructure schemes to improve some key junctions and facilities for cyclists and pedestrians around Kendal.

This is being done to accommodate a forecasted increase in traffic flows resulting from the development of housing and employment sites identified in the South Lakeland District Council Local Plan Land Allocations.

There is a desire to improve crossing facilities on Heron Hill at its junction with Esthwaite Avenue, particularly to aid crossing between Heron Hill Primary School and the existing Spar shop on Esthwaite Avenue.

This work is planned to start on Monday 12 September 2016 and estimated to last one week.

You can find the proposed plans at http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/kendalimprovements/

The council wishes to thank the local community for their patience and understanding, and apologises in advance for any disruption and inconvenience resulting from these works.
