Changes to parking restrictions to be enforced in Denton Holme

Following a recent consultation regarding parking in Carlisle’s Zone D (Denton Holme), a number of changes to parking availability in the zone have been implemented. The changes also follow concerns raised by local residents that had previously been brought forward by former local member, the late Cllr Hughie McDevitt.

The public are advised that parking enforcement teams will be visiting the area more frequently in the coming weeks to ensure the changes are being observed. One of the most significant changes is the loading and unloading area near the junction of Denton Street and Nelson Street.

The council would like to remind local residents and visitors to Denton Holme to observe the changes to the parking restrictions and to familiarise themselves with any signage or road markings.

Cllr Karen Lockney, local member for Denton Holme, said:

“The residents of Denton Holme have put up with inconsiderate parking on Denton Street for several years. Thanks to the work of Cllr McDevitt, the recent changes to the parking restrictions in Denton Holme and news of increased enforcement patrols will help us tackle this issue.”
