Carlisle mobile testing unit deployed whilst improvements made to Cecil Street test site

The Cecil Street car park testing site in Carlisle has closed until Friday 30 July to allow works to take place and improve testing services.

In the meantime, a temporary mobile testing unit (MTU) will be deployed at the Swifts Bank Car Park in Carlisle and will allow both walk-through and drive-through options.

The new MTU at Swifts Bank will provide testing from 10am - 3pm, including on Friday 30 July, but test appointments will need to be booked online via the national testing portal or by calling 119.

If you develop symptoms and cannot reach a test site, you can order a home test kit online or by calling 119. If your symptoms began more than 7 days ago, it’s too late to order a home test kit and you must book a test at your local test site.

The Carlisle Airport drive-through test site will continue to be available for those who cannot access a home test.

If you do not have symptoms but would like to take a test as part of your weekly testing routine, you should continue to order lateral flow test kits from your local pharmacy or online.

For more information about testing for COVID-19, visit the government website.
