Cumbria County Council is improving the A595 junction between Bothel and Torpenhow near the Greyhound Inn/Torpenhow.
The project aims to improve the quality of the roads, reduce travel times, improve reliability, safety, and resilience of journeys. Residents and businesses will have better access to Carlisle and West Cumbria, thereby supporting the local economy.
Construction of the first phase of the Torpenhow junction has been prioritised by Cumbria County Council, after receiving £5 million funding from the Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (CLEP); as part of the ‘Getting Building Fund.’
Residents, businesses, and people traveling the A595 are invited to a pre-construction event at Bothel Village Hall on Wednesday 11 May from 4.00pm to 7.00pm.
The public will be able to view site plans and talk to representatives from Cumbria County Council, Story Contracting Ltd and Capita.
